Mayor Amna Seibold

Amna Seibold was elected mayor in 2011 after serving as a city commissioner for six years and a planning commissioner for five years. Her term ends in December of 2019. A 1975 graduate of East Grand Rapids High School, she also attended Albion College and received her master’s degree in health administration from the University of Michigan. She is now the director of pathology at Mercy Health, Saint Mary's in Grand Rapids. In 2010, Amna completed a fellowship with the Michigan Political Leadership Program at Michigan State University. She is married and has three children.

As mayor, Amna works closely with city staff to set agendas for the City Commission and other meetings, handles routine inquiries directed to the mayor, and works with citizens to resolve issues or take suggestions for improvements. She represents East Grand Rapids on the Interurban Transportation Board and other committees. Amna believes strong relationships between the city government, EGR Schools, and Gaslight Village merchants help to account for the outstanding success of our city.
